To implement Component (iv) Training and Awareness of the Project “Demonstration of Best Available Technical Methodology (BAT) and Best Environmental Experience (BEP) in open burning in order to implement the Stockholm Convention on POPs, The Center for Natural Resources and Environment Communication cooperate with Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Environmental Quality Management  organized  Education Curricula at university level on “ Waste management and reducing open burning  activities” on 29-30 September ,2018 at Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment.

The training program is integrated with  series of activities that are part of the Clean up World Campaign 2018 of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s. The Clean up World Campaign was launched by Australia in 1993, this also launched by the United Nations Environment Program  on a global scale and held every September. The Clean up World Campaign 2018 is an opportunity to bring together businesses, community groups, schools, individuals and nations around the world to participate in environmental activities.

Education Curricula at university level on “ Waste management and reducing open burning  activities” has attracted the participation of more than 100 environmental students at Hanoi university such as:  University of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Forestry, University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University, Hanoi UniversityTransportation  etc. The training program is organized to improve knowledge and skills on waste management and reducing of open burning activities for environmental students at Hanoi University. The training program focuses on the following areasStockholm Convention and Development Objectives global sustainability (SDG); Status of management, collection, treatment of solid waste and open  activities; Arising of UPOPs due to open burning activities and their impact on human health and the environment; Technology solutions to  reduce open burning activities; Supportive economic instruments and economic resources for waste management to reduce open burning activities ; Communication activities on reducing open burning activities.

During the two days of this , the Resource and Environment Communication Center received positive feedback and contributions from students and teachers of the environment.
